Meridian Promotes Anthony Banome to Director of Fuel Sales

AB Press Release
Meridian, the award-winning private aviation company based at Teterboro Airport (TEB), is pleased to announce the promotion of Anthony Banome to Director of Fuel Sales. In addition to his previous responsibilities for maintaining and growing volume of FBO fuel sales, Mr. Banome will also be charged with developing and executing the long-term fuel strategy for both the Meridian FBO and Charter businesses. This will include optimizing fuel cost savings for the Meridian Air Charter fleet, while also seeking strategic alliances with key vendor-partners to leverage efficiencies.

Mr. Banome began his career at Meridian in 2007 as a Customer Service Representative in the FBO. A few years later, he was given additional responsibilities for FBO fuel sales, a role which he grew into very quickly. In 2013, Anthony was a recipient of Airport Business magazine’s ‘40 Under Forty’, an annual award honoring the best and brightest individuals in the aviation industry.

Ken Forester, Meridian’s CEO, had this to say, “Anthony has truly taken the role of selling fuel to the next level with his strong knowledge of industry pricing combined with his keen ability to network. His promotion was well-deserved, and we are proud of the results that Anthony has achieved so far. It will also help us to achieve long-term, sustainable growth by having one point of contact for both the FBO and Charter fuel sales. We are now in a better position to leverage the critical mass of both businesses to help create new opportunities and significant cost-savings for the company.”

Airport Business magazine recently released the winners of its second-annual Top 40 Under Forty contest, and Meridian is proud to announce that our own Anthony Banome was among them. Anthony started with the FBO, commonly known as Meridian Teterboro, as a Customer Service Representative in 2007. Over the years, while still retaining his responsibilities in Customer Service, his role expanded to include FBO Fuel Sales, a newly carved position that was just right for the affable Staten Island native. This position enabled him to travel to industry events both nationally and internationally, giving him the opportunity to meet with people in all facets of business aviation.

Now in 2013, Anthony has established himself as an integral part of the organization. From helping pilots get to their next destination to growing the company’s fuel sales business, Anthony’s tireless efforts have had a positive and lasting impact at Meridian. Mr. Banome was honored when he learned of the prestigious award. Congratulations Anthony for being recognized among the Top 40 Under Forty!
