Meridian Supports 2018 FlightSafety Golf Tournament

Team Meridian poses for a quick selfie on the golf course!

Meridian, the award-winning private aviation company based at Teterboro Airport, was a proud sponsor of FlightSafety’s 22nd Annual Customer Appreciation Golf Tournament held on Monday, June 25, 2018. The company sent a team of people to meet and greet golfers at the sponsored hole, as well as a foursome to play in the tournament. Meridian sponsored the ‘Closest to the Pin’ contest hole on the Meadows course, which was hosted by two representatives of the company, Heather DeRegis from Charter Operations and Victor Seda from Customer Service. Heather and Victor welcomed golfers throughout the day, offering them Gatorade, water bottles, power bars, sunscreen, and Meridian golf balls. The Meridian foursome included Ron Palmer, Bob Platten, and Chris Battaglia. (The fourth golfer, Nehemias Camacho was unable to make it last minute.) While Team Meridian did not win any prizes, the final score was a respectable 64 (8 under par) in the scramble format.
Overall, there were 171 golfers and over 220 total attendees that participated in the annual tournament. The contest winners of the Meridian sponsorship hole for ‘Closest to the Pin’ was Dianne Tarantino for the women, and Ken Eklund for the men. The prizes were Ping and Odyssey putters for landing their shots closest to the pin. In addition to a fun day on the links, there was also a charitable component – FlightSafety raised $1,500 for Corporate Angel Network. Corporate Angel Network is the only charitable organization in the United States whose sole mission is to help cancer patients access the best possible treatment for their specific type of cancer by arranging free travel to treatment across the country using empty seats on corporate jets.
Michele Posey, Director of Sales and organizer of the event, had this to say, “The annual FlightSafety Golf Tournament is a fun way for us to thank our valued customers each year by providing a relaxing day on the golf course followed by a dinner with awards and prizes. We also want to thank our sponsors, like Meridian, for their generosity and support. Now that the 2018 tournament is behind us, we’re already planning for next year.”
Meridian sponsored the ‘Closest to the Pin’ contest located at hole #5 of the Meadow course at Centennial Golf Club.

While 68 would be a great score for most golfers, it was not low enough to earn any prizes for Team Meridian.
