For the second year in a row, Meridian Air Charter is pleased to announce that it was a proud partner and sponsor of the 2014 Giant Steps Charity Classic, held from July 29 to August 3, 2014, at Sonoma Horse Park in Petaluma, CA. Meridian is a full-service private aviation company based at Teterboro Airport in Teterboro, NJ, located only minutes from New York City. Bob Platten and Jim Reyes were on-hand to represent the company, and to participate in the award ceremony at the Winner’s Circle for the JR/AO Hunter Classic. The 5th annual Giant Steps Charity Classic was a six-day horse show that showcased top regional, national and international equestrians – from up-and-coming junior athletes to the best of the best, including Olympic competitors. Over $140,000 in prize money was at stake as horses and riders of all ages and levels competed throughout the week. The two title events of the weekend were Saturday’s Gala and Sunday’s Grand Prix. Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center was founded in 1998 to offer life-changing therapy to people of all ages with a wide range of physical, emotional and developmental challenges ranging from autism to cerebral palsy to Downs syndrome. Giant Steps also serves veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), wounded service members, active duty military members, and children considered to be “at-risk.” Giant Steps is a non-profit corporation that receives no state or federal funding.
