Meridian, the award-winning private aviation company, is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed ground handling and servicing training for large cabin and mid-cabin Gulfstream aircraft. Gulfstream offers the training in partnership with FlightSafety International, who developed the curriculum for the training courses. The program is designed to raise awareness for aircraft safety during servicing and improve dispatch reliability. The training is available to fixed-base operators (FBOs) that handle Gulfstream aircraft.
The two online training courses are designed for line service technicians and cover large cabin Gulfstream (G350, G450, G500, G550, G650) and mid-cabin Gulfstream (G150, G200, G280) models.
“We are always seeking new ways to improve the customer experience,” said Jeff Torres, Line Service Training Coordinator. “Adding another level of expertise only adds to the quality service we offer our customers, and in this case, those who operate or travel on a Gulfstream model aircraft.”
Gulfstream recognizes those FBOs that have successfully reached 100% Line Technician completion of the training. Meridian Teterboro and Meridian Hayward have completed both the mid-cabin and large cabin training. Subjects covered in the training include aircraft parking, towing and mooring, water servicing, window cleaning, snow and ice removal, and a comprehensive tour of the aircraft itself.
“Meridian is dedicated to continuous improvement opportunities which help us maintain the highest standards,” adds Carlos Rodriguez, General Manager of Meridian Hayward. “We are pleased to have attained another endorsement which adds to our commitment to safety, reliability and outstanding customer service.”

Meridian Jet Center Earns Gulfstream G200 Rating

Meridian, the award-winning private aviation company based at Teterboro Airport in Teterboro, NJ, is pleased to announce that its aircraft maintenance operation, Meridian Jet Center, has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) authorization to repair and inspect the Gulfstream G200. The rating also includes the legacy manufacturer and model, formerly known as Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) Galaxy.
The Gulfstream G200 was originally designed by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) and was produced for Gulfstream Aerospace from 1999 through 2011. The Galaxy first flew on December 25, 1997. By December 1998 it had received certification from the US and Israeli aviation agencies and deliveries began the following year. The Galaxy was renamed “G200” after Gulfstream Aerospace acquired Galaxy Aerospace in June 2001. The final G200 aircraft rolled off the production line on December 19, 2011, with a final tally of 250 completions. In 2005, Gulfstream began designing its follow-up aircraft. The new model, known as the “G250”, was launched in 2008. It was later renamed the Gulfstream G280.
John Langschultz, VP of Meridian Jet Center, was very enthusiastic about the new rating. “The addition of this popular Gulfstream model allows us to better serve both new and existing customers. Our highly trained technicians now have the ability to support our customers with a wider range of offerings. The G200 is a very versatile super-mid, and we are excited to add this aircraft to our list of FAA-approved airframe models.”
Meridian Jet Center is an FAA-approved Part 145 certified repair station. The company will be celebrating 20 years of certification in February 2016. It is also certified by European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Honeywell has appointed Meridian as an authorized TFE731 and -36 Series APU Service Center. The facility is also a Northeast Honeywell Avionics and Mechanical Parts Depot. Meridian Jet Center technicians are certified to work on Beechjets, Challengers, Citations, Falcons, Gulfstreams, Hawkers and Learjets.

Need and Response

Every so often we are reminded of how necessary our services are in maintaining the flexibility and efficiency of the global market place. Just recently, having been allotted only five hours for all necessary flight preparations were we able to satisfy a clients need to conduct a next day business meeting in both Paris and London. Though H.G. Wells may have had the first handle on circumventing father time, thanks to our responsive crews, excellent flight planning department, and impeccably on point line staff we as a company were once again reminded that we indeed work with the most modern and indispensable of time machines. Our clients were extremely happy and the end result was a successful business transaction that could not have been completed otherwise: demand and supply re-affirmed through the use of our beautiful Gulfstream IV J and a step towards helping us re-stabilize the current global financial situation.
