This past week, Meridian was proud to host the January meeting of  the Alameda County Mayors’ Conference (ACMC). The 3-hour event was a big success for the 50 people in attendance. Among the attendees were distinguished Mayors, City Managers, and City Council Members, all of whom were extremely excited about the ambiance that the terminal and hanger provided. In fact, the large American flag draped on the back wall was so inspiring, that it was used for the Pledge of Allegiance to kick off the meeting.
The ACMC was created in 1954 to, “develop and maintain a means of cooperative effort and understanding in matters of mutual interests and concern” and to, “assemble information helpful in the consideration of problems particular to the various areas of the county”. The Membership of this prestigious conference consists of the Mayors of the incorporated cities including Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, and Union City. In addition to the Mayors, Officers are elected annually to serve a one-year term.
