On Tuesday, March 19, Meridian hosted students from the North Bergen High School STEM Academy, a preparatory school for students pursuing careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
Students learned about the many facets of business aviation and FBO operations, and the various factors involved to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Many students were surprised to learn how much was involved in business aviation. Our VP of Jet Maintenance, John Langshultz, gave an overview of jet maintenance and spoke about how diverse our jet mechanics’ skillset must be in order to keep a jet flying.
The students were also given a tour of our Teterboro FBO and met with our CEO, Ken Forester. The Academy told us that they thought very highly of the tour and felt the trip to Teterboro was among their most exciting. We hope that we’ve sparked an interest in the Business Aviation industry, and hope to see them again in the future!

The Teterboro Chapter of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) held its 29th Annual Holiday Social at The Graycliff in Moonachie, NJ, on Friday, January 12, 2018. Meridian supported the event by purchasing a table of 10 for its employees and their guests, as well as being a Casino Night sponsor. The lively evening began at 7:00pm and lasted until about 11:00pm.
The Casino-themed event featured an open bar, dinner, dancing, a live band and DJ music, and of course, a craps table, a blackjack table, dealers, casino chips, and more! Casino chips could be exchanged for prize tickets. The dinner included a full buffet, carving table, pasta station, seafood, and ice cream bar. Door prizes were donated by member companies and given out at the end of the evening to guests. A 50/50 raffle then followed, with three lucky winners walking away a few dollars richer that night.
The early PAMA holiday parties were held in December, until one year a snowstorm cancelled the event. It was rescheduled for the following month, and as it turned out, everyone liked the date in January much better since it didn’t conflict with everyone’s busy holiday schedule in December. It’s been held in January ever since.
PAMA is a nonprofit society representing all professionals in aviation maintenance. The Teterboro Chapter is located at Teterboro Airport in Bergen County New Jersey. The chapter typically meets on the last Tuesday of each month (except June through August) at the Graycliff in Moonachie, NJ.
