On June 21, 2018, Meridian proudly exhibited at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Regional Forum in White Plains, NY, held at the Westchester County Airport (HPN). In addition to hosting a 10′ x 10′ display stand, the company sent over 15 employees to meet and greet visitors. Kirk Stephen, Director of Marketing, said, “This Regional is the premier event for business aviation in the Northeast because it provides a great venue for vendors, customers, and prospects to come together under one roof and conduct business face-to-face. There are so many attendees at this show, that it really creates a unique networking opportunity for everyone here today. This is a must-attend event for us.”
NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen stated “there is a pervasive sense of optimism in our industry.” According to NBAA, the event demonstrated a growing confidence of the industry, which was reflected in the forum’s numbers – 190 exhibitors, 2,700 attendees and a variety of aircraft, from single-engine piston-powered models to intercontinental business jets. “The energy and enthusiasm for business aviation was evident at this year’s White Plains Regional Forum,” said Mike Nichols, NBAA’s vice president of operational excellence and professional development. “Exhibitors conducted significant business, attendees gained valuable insights from the education session content, and the mood projected a positive outlook for the industry.”
The prior evening, Fontainebleau Aviation and Meridian co-sponsored a bus trip to Yankee Stadium for aviation colleagues who were in town attending the regional. On the bus, guests were all given judge wigs to show their support for Aaron Judge, the popular Yankee slugger, as New York took on the Seattle Mariners. The Yankees won the game with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th inning for a dramatic ending to a fun evening.
Meridian is planning to exhibit at the next (and last) NBAA Regional Forum in 2018, which will be held on Thursday, September 6 at San Jose International Airport (SJC) in San Jose, CA.

Meridian, the award-winning private aviation company based at Teterboro Airport, was a proud sponsor of FlightSafety’s 20th Annual Customer Appreciation Golf Tournament held on Monday, June 27, 2016. The company sent a team of people to meet and greet golfers at the sponsored hole, as well as a foursome to play in the tournament. Meridian sponsored the longest drive contest hole, which was hosted by two representatives of the company, Saqiba Parveen from Customer Service and Brittany Page from Charter Operations. Saqiba and Brittany welcomed golfers throughout the day, offering water bottles, power bars, and Meridian baseball hats. The Meridian foursome included Mike Moore, Chris Battaglia, Bob Platten, and Anthony Banome. While Team Meridian did not win any prizes, the final score was a respectable 68 in the scramble format.
Overall, there were 170 golfers and 230 total attendees that participated in the annual tournament. Winning foursomes hailed from Honeywell, Sony, and Gama Aviation. In addition to a fun day on the links, there was also a charitable component – FlightSafety raised $1,500 for Corporate Angel Network. Corporate Angel Network is the only charitable organization in the United States whose sole mission is to help cancer patients access the best possible treatment for their specific type of cancer by arranging free travel to treatment across the country using empty seats on corporate jets.
Michele Posey, Assistant Director of Sales and organizer of the event, had this to say, “The annual FlightSafety Golf Tournament is a fun way for us to thank our valued customers each year by providing a relaxing day on the golf course followed by a dinner with awards and prizes. We also want to thank our sponsors, like Meridian, for their generosity and support. Now that the 2016 tournament is behind us, we’re already planning for next year.”

On Monday, June 24, 2013, Meridian Air Charter sent a foursome of pilots to play in the 17th Annual FlightSafety 2013 Customer Appreciation Golf Tournament held at Centennial Golf Club in Carmel, New York. In addition to sending players, Meridian also supported the event with a hole sponsorship located on the Meadows course. The par 3 was also a contest hole for ‘Closest to the Pin’. The sponsorship enabled Meridian representatives to network with golfers by having a tent at the hole, where volunteers handed out cold water and power bars to very thirsty players. The weather was unusually hot and humid for late June, with temperatures reaching well into the 90’s for most of the day.
The tournament was a success with 180 golfers, 240 attendees, and 26 sponsors participating. Since Centennial is a 27 hole course, FlightSafety awarded 3 First Place prizes to foursomes with the lowest scores based on the combination of courses played. 1st place winners were as follows:
• Signature Flight Support on the Meadows/Lakes courses with a final score of 58
• The Whitewind Company on the Fairways/Meadows courses with a final score of 60
• Corporate Air Transport on the Lakes/Fairways courses with a final score of 60
There were 5 prizes offered for the ‘Closest to the Pin’ contests. Congratulations to Joe Gallucci of the New York City Police for winning at the hole sponsored by Meridian, located at #5 Meadows!
Prizes included iPads, Kindles, digital cameras, and aircraft models, and two Ping putters dontated by Meridian. Team Meridian completed the round +3, finishing with the same score as last year. Although the Meridian team did not win any prizes this year, everyone from the company agreed that the event was fun and very well-organized.
Meridian is looking forward to participating in its next golf tournament, which will be the 29th Annual Teterboro Airport Scholarship Classic at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, NJ, on September 20, 2013.
