On Saturday, July 19, 2014, about 900 runners participated in the 17th Annual PSE&G Teterboro 5K, which was held at Teterboro Airport in Bergen County, NJ. The race supports Bergen County’s United Way, one of the largest charitable organizations in the community. Its mission is to help people 24 hours a day whenever and wherever help is needed by providing concrete solutions to critical community problems. Proceeds from the run will be used to provide direct services to the most vulnerable residents in the community and to develop programs and financial resources to address unmet needs.
Meridian proudly sponsored a team of 17 runners, 9 of which were Meridian employees. Team Meridian finished 2nd in the ‘TEB Tenant’ category with a total time of 1:04:35 (score of top 3 finishers), and an average time of 21:31. The top finishers were David Fernandez, Bruno Audy, and Jonathan Cabral. Jonathan Cabral also placed in the Top 10 for his age category.
Six of the Meridian employees were also participating in the Meridian “Personal” Challenge, a fitness event that is sponsored by the company to encourage wellness and fitness among employees. All six of the employees had either met or exceeded their personal goal. Meridian employees on the 5K Team included:
