Meridian Teterboro was rated the #1 FBO in the New York City (NYC) metro area by the readers of Aviation International News (AIN) in its annual survey. Meridian was the only FBO at Teterboro Airport and the NYC metro area to be ranked in the top 10% of FBOs in the Americas. Meridian TEB was highly ranked for its pilot amenities and customer service as well. Professional Pilot’s (ProPilot) annual PRASE Survey also placed Meridian as the #1 FBO at Teterboro, and among the top ten FBOs in the US.
Meridian is unique in that it is the only FBO at TEB to operate under the same ownership since 1946. That legacy and experience has contributed to the success of its Hayward FBO, which was ranked among the top FBOs for the first time this year. AIN readers gave Meridian Hayward high marks, placing it in the top five FBOs in the West Region and one of the best FBOs in the greater San Francisco area. Additionally, the AIN survey recognizes those individual FBO employees who go “Above and Beyond”, and we are proud that HWD’s Jenny Deitschman, Customer Service Representative (CSR), was included on this year’s list.
“We are honored to be counted among the top FBOs on the West Coast,” said Carlos Rodriguez, Hayward’s General Manager. “Since our opening in 2016, our team has worked hard to provide outstanding service to each and every customer. I’m especially pleased to see Jenny recognized for her efforts as an outstanding CSR.” Jenny has been with Meridian Hayward since it opened for business.
Meridian was ranked as the 4th best independent FBO by ProPilot, and was the only FBO in the Northeast to be recognized in this category. The 2021 ranking is several spots ahead of last year, and we are proud that our continued commitment to striving to be the best resonated with customers.
“It’s very rewarding to know that our efforts are appreciated. We are honored to be recognized for our legacy of exceptional service,” said Ken Forester, Meridian’s CEO. “We sincerely thank our customers for their support and confidence in us. After 75 years, Meridian’s mission and focus are still the same-putting each customer first and delivering a truly personalized experience to everyone we serve.”

The company’s Fixed Base Operator (FBO) in Teterboro was again voted the top FBO in the Northeast by readers of Aviation International News (AIN) and by registered members of FltPlan.com in their 2018 FBO surveys. Readers of Professional Pilot (ProPilot) once again recognized two of Meridian’s customer service representatives among the top five in the nation in its annual PRASE Survey. The FBO was also ranked #1 at Teterboro Airport in all three surveys. These industry surveys are well-respected and the entire staff is honored to be recognized for its exceptional service.
Meridian was voted in the top 10% of all US FBOs in the AIN survey, while FltPlan.com’s Pilots’ Choice Awards rated Meridian #10 among its Top 50 US FBOs. Meridian, the award-winning private aviation company, is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed ground handling and servicing training for large cabin and mid-cabin Gulfstream aircraft. Gulfstream offers the training in partnership with FlightSafety International, who developed the curriculum for the training courses. The program is designed to raise awareness for aircraft safety during servicing and improve dispatch reliability. The training is available to fixed-base operators (FBOs) that handle Gulfstream aircraft.
The two online training courses are designed for line service technicians and cover large cabin Gulfstream (G350, G450, G500, G550, G650) and mid-cabin Gulfstream (G150, G200, G280) models.
“We are always seeking new ways to improve the customer experience,” said Jeff Torres, Line Service Training Coordinator. “Adding another level of expertise only adds to the quality service we offer our customers, and in this case, those who operate or travel on a Gulfstream model aircraft.”
Gulfstream recognizes those FBOs that have successfully reached 100% Line Technician completion of the training. Meridian Teterboro and Meridian Hayward have completed both the mid-cabin and large cabin training. Subjects covered in the training include aircraft parking, towing and mooring, water servicing, window cleaning, snow and ice removal, and a comprehensive tour of the aircraft itself.
“Meridian is dedicated to continuous improvement opportunities which help us maintain the highest standards,” adds Carlos Rodriguez, General Manager of Meridian Hayward. “We are pleased to have attained another endorsement which adds to our commitment to safety, reliability and outstanding customer service.”
Meridian, the award-winning private aviation company, proudly sent a team of 8 runners to participate in the 19th Annual PSE&G Teterboro Airport 5K on Saturday, July 16, 2016. This unique race, located at one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country, attracts nearly 1,000 runners and hundreds of spectators each year. The course, which takes place mostly on one of the two airport runways, is flat with only five turns, two water stops, and mile clocks. While the course itself may not seem challenging to a seasoned runner, the summer heat reflecting from the sun-drenched tarmac is often the biggest challenge. The event was certified and sanctioned by the USATF-NJ.
Team results were calculated by the using the top 3 running times from that team. Meridian finished 4th among TEB tenants with a final team score of 1:26:58 and an average of time of 28:59.56. The top scores from Team Meridian were as follows:
Cristian Valencina | 27:43.64 | (239th overall) |
Anthony Zambrano | 28:23.44 | (262nd overall) |
Eric Chavez | 30:51.61 | (328th overall) |
More race results are available online at https://www.compuscore.com/cs2016/july/teterbor.htm#overall
The event featured over $10,000 in random prizes, a $1,000 grand prize, ChronoTrack B-Tag scoring, United Way mini-flyer dashes, refreshments and a DJ. The event benefits The Bergen County United Way, which is one of the largest charitable organizations in the community. Proceeds collected from the run help the organization to provide direct services to the most vulnerable residents in the community and to develop programs and financial resources to address unmet needs. On Friday, September 12, 2014, Meridian, the award-winning private aviation company based at Teterboro Airport, proudly supported the 30th Annual Teterboro Airport Scholarship Golf Classic, which was held at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, NJ. The golf tournament raises funds for the Teterboro Airport Community Benefit Fund, which last year created scholarships totaling $15,000 for local high schools. Due to the overwhelming success and generosity of businesses both on and off the airport, the Teterboro Airport Scholarship Golf Classic has permitted the Teterboro Airport community to award 190 scholarships to local high school graduates aspiring to pursue higher education in aviation or related fields of study.
Meridian sent a team of three, including Mike Moore, Anthony Banome, and Kirk Stephen. A fourth member from the Port Authority joined the team just before the shotgun start, but unfortunately the final team score was not worth reporting here. However, the weather was perfect, the lunch was delicious, and the day was dedicated to a great cause. Meridian Hosts Annual TEB Blood Drive

Despite the stormy weather, Meridian employees came out in numbers today to donate their blood to help those in need. The blood drive was facilitated by Community Blood Services, which rolled up to the parking lot in its traditional red and white Bloodmobile. Every year, Community Blood Services holds its Teterboro Airport Blood Drive at Meridian. Donors must weigh at least 110 lbs. and must be in generally good health. Each donor received a $5.00 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card.
Community Blood Services has been serving the local community’s transfusion medicine needs for more than 50 years. They provide life-saving blood and blood products to hospitals in New Jersey and New York, bone marrow registration and donor services, and public and private umbilical cord blood collection and storage. Their New Jersey Cord Blood Bank is the only public cord blood bank for the State of New Jersey.
A single blood donation can save the lives of three people. Blood can be separated into three components: red cells, platelets and plasma. Each one of these components has a special function. Red blood cells are used to treat patients who are anemic, plasma is used to treat burn victims in shock due to fluid loss and platelets are used to treat patients diagnosed with cancer.
Thanks to everyone who donated.
